A Long Time Coming

Next week I’ll be embarking upon a trip that I’ve dreamed about for years (but kept putting off).

Where am I off to? The American Southwest. I’ll be loading up the car and driving through parts of Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Colorado; to photograph terrain vastly different from what I’m normally exposed to.

My route is mostly planned around national and state parks, although I’m really excited to see what charming places I stumble upon along the way; I find that the unplanned is often the most memorable.

With few responsibilities in my life at the moment, I easily cleared my schedule for all of April (and most of May), and while I admit that it’s entirely possible I get travel fatigue and head home early, I'm planning on this being a 4-6 week excursion. And who knows, maybe longer if I’m having a blast.

As icing on the cake, in addition to my photography vagabonding, I’ll be visiting my aunt and uncle in Colorado and am so freaking excited to hang with them. It’s been a long time coming.

This entire trip has been a long time coming.

And I can’t wait to begin.

BONUS: Below is one of my favorite songs of the past year. I admit to not being a huge fan of his music, but this song absolutely captivates me. I have a feeling it'll be played loud and often during my road trip. Enjoy!
